San Benito County residents may be reimbursed for winter storm damage

SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- San Benito County residents affected by the 2023-2024 severe winter Storms can seek possible financial reimbursement for property damages.

The State of California received $416,597,00 of Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds in response to the 2023 and 2024 winter storms.

The funds are being administered through the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).

After all other assistance has been exhausted, the CDBG-DR will address the remaining needs.

Requirements have been put in place to increase recovery time and enhance flexibility.

For more information regarding the funds, webinars will be held this week on April 2 in English and April 3 in Spanish from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
