CAPITOLA, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Six new concepts are being presented to help revitalize the Capitola Wharf for the Long-Term Wharf Plan on March 13.

The concepts include opening the Wharf as a public space, an open market for food trucks and local vendors, a fishing business, a lifeguard station, or a full restaurant.

Working alongside Capitola for outreach, planning and design services, these concepts have been drafted by Fuse Architecture.

The Wharf was damaged due to winter storms from the deck to the buildings in December 2023.

Demolition of buildings damaged was approved in February 2024.

After a concept presentation, the city will discuss the best considerations before heading into public outreach on other alternatives.
