Salinas Police: JCPenney’s smash and grab suspect arrested

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Salinas Police said a suspect is in jail tonight for stealing $145,000 worth of items from a JCPenney's store in the city.

Police said the suspect used a hammer to smash a display case and steal the thousands of dollars worth of items.

Investigators said their Organize Retail Theft team worked with Loss Prevention to track down the suspect and place them into custody.

The announcement of the arrest was made through social media and a suspect was not identified within that post.
