Three arrested for mail theft, robbery in Hollister
HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Hollister Police say they arrested three people in connection to a series of mail thefts in the city over the last year.
Police identified the suspects as Gane Lee and Eng Yang of Fresno and Sombat Vang of Clovis.
On December 7, Hollister Police were alerted by a resident about someone attacking them and stealing their phone before driving off in a car. The victim also gave a description of the vehicle and said the men were stealing mail from a community mailbox that saw multiple thefts take place in the last year.
Police say the witness was taking pictures of the suspects when they attacked the victim.
Police were able to track down the vehicle and saw it driving at a high rate of speed along Fairview Road.
The vehicle was stopped a the 6500 block of Fairview Road and police were able to arrest the suspects.
Police say they've returned a portion of the stolen mail back to some homes, but have a long way to go.
People who live on Cabrillo Drive, Brigantino Drive, Marbella Circle, Cielo Court or Blenheim Court are asked to contact the evidence bureau at 831-636-4330 to see if their mail is with police.
