Power restored for thousands of PG&E customers in north Salinas

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- PG&E is reporting power is back on for the 5,609 customers who lost power in a large portion of north Salinas on Thursday night.

The outage was only being referred to by PG&E as an unplanned outage.

The outage stretched from Sherwood Hall, Polk Drive and West Laurel north to the Northridge Mall area and Madrid Street.

The outage lasted from 6:50 pm until just before 9 p.m.

Customers reported their lights were flickering right before the power went out.

PG&E has not provided info on what caused the outage.
