Deadly crash forces partial closure of Highway 152 north of Hollister

SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- One person is dead after a crash on Highway 152 north of Hollister according to the CHP.

The CHP said a man driving a sedan along Eastbound Highway 152 just east of San Felipe crossed into the westbound lane and crashed head-on with a big rig.

Investigators said the driver of the sedan died at the scene. The big rig driver suffered minor injuries and was transported for treatment.

According to the CHP, it's unknown if drugs and/or alcohol are a factor in the crash.

The CHP said they closed Highway 152 between Highway 156 and San Felipe Road while they investigated and crews cleared the scene.

The road has since reopened as of 10 a.m.

The identity of the man who died is not being released until family has been notified of their passing.
