Salinas Police shut down North Main Street near Espinosa Road for homicide investigation

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Salinas Police has North Main Street near Espinosa Road shut down for a homicide investigation on Sunday morning.

Police said they received a call just after 7 a.m. for reports of a shooting. When they arrived they found a victim at the scene.

Investigators said there's no threat to the public at this time and they're working on getting additional details on a suspect to share with the community.

Police is asking the public to avoid North Main near Espinosa because it's blocked off on both sides to vehicle traffic.

The closure starts at the Pointe at Harden Ranch apartments.
