Monterey Police investigating an attempted homicide

MONTEREY, CALIF. (KION-TV)- The Monterey Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person with minor injures.

On August 6th at around 10:30 p.m., according to officials, officers responded to a call of gun shots in the area of Municipal Wharf #2. When officers arrived, they located a victim who reported that someone had shot at him while he was in his car near the foot of the wharf. The vehicle had multiple bullet holes in it, but the victim wasn't injured.

Officers did find another victim inside the London Bridge Pub. Officials believe their injuries were caused by bullet fragments after gun shots hit the building that the London Bridge Pub and Sapporo’s Restaurant are in.

The investigation into this incident is still ongoing. Anyone who was in the area of Municipal Wharf #2 during that time or anyone with information related to the shooting is asked to contact Detective Mike Garcia at (831) 646-6926 or mgarcia@monterey.gov.
