Highway 101 north of Red Barn set to reopen after wildfire, according to Cal Fire

UC SAN DIEGO ALERT CALIFORNIA

AROMAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Cal Fire said they're wrapping up efforts to put out a wildfire that burned along Highway 101 near the Red Barn.

Eight engines showed up to the scene to put out the fire that forced a closure of Highway 101.

The fire grew to just under an acre before forward progress was stopped.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Cal Fire anticipates the highway should be back open by 4 p.m.
