BIG SUR, Calif. (KION-TV) -- CHP-Coastal Division said a hiker had to be rescued from the Salmon Creek Trail after reporting they were feeling too dehydrated on the trail to continue.

The CHP said the hiker was at the top of the trail when they were able to call 911.

Big Sur Fire requested the CHP's Coastal Division to fly in to help the hiker, later transporting the hiker to Highway 1 at the Salmon Creek Trailhead where the hiker was treated by Big Sur Fire.
