Greenfield Police arrest one person for gun offenses

GREENFIELD, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Greenfield Police have arrested one person for multiple gun related offenses early Monday.

According to officials, just after Midnight, police received a call from someone reporting suspicious activity happening near Maple Avenue and 10th Street. Officers responded to the scene and located an unknown number of people who then fled.

After capturing the individuals, one person, 20-year-old Regino De Jesus from Greenfield, was found in possession of a loaded firearm magazine. With the help of Monterey County Sheriff's Office deputies, a 9mm Beretta was tracked back to the area where the report was first made about the suspicious activity. The firearm was then recovered from the scene.

DeJesus was taken to Monterey County Jail and booked on multiple gun-related offenses.
