Reward offered in illegal fireworks case that left multiple people displaced during 4th of July weekend

HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Hollister Police is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest of the person or multiple people responsible for setting off an illegal firework they said resulted in a fire at an apartment complex.

Police said they received reports of the fire at the 1000 block of Del Rio Court on July 4 at around 10:13 p.m.

Police said witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion and when officers arrived the staircase to the apartment complex was on fire.

According to investigators, it was determined people were setting off illegal fireworks and one of them hit the building.

No one was injured in the incident, according to police.
