Bay FC falls 1-0 to Utah Royals FC in return to PayPal Park

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KION) - It was a tale of two halves at PayPal Park as Bay FC fell 1-0 to Utah Royals FC. The first-ever meeting between the two clubs remained scoreless for 89 minutes.

Bay FC controlled the first half, dominating possession and utilizing a full press that kept Utah uncomfortable for the entirety of the first 45 minutes. When both teams returned to the pitch for the second half, Utah took control.

The Royals' momentum culminated in the 89th minute, as Utah earned a free kick well within Bay FC territory. From the left corner, Ally Sentnor connected with Kate Del Fava for a header which proved to be the game-winning goal.

Just moments before, Bay FC's Rachael Kundanaji appeared to score the first goal of the game, but it was instead called back due to an offside call.

Bay FC will now look to bounce back against Angel City FC on June 22 at PayPal Park.
