County of Monterey hosting a community forum regarding dangers of second-hand smoke

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- The Monterey County Health Department will be holding a community forum discussing the dangers of second-hand and third-hand smoke.

The meeting will be held on Thursday June 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The meeting will be at the Breadbox Community Center along North Sanborn Road in Salinas.

According to County officials, smoking can be very costly which amounts to $190 million to provide treatment.

The event will also be in Spanish given the impact that the tobacco industry has had on the Latino community. Parking is free at the Recreation Center.
