Watsonville man arrested for lewd acts with a juvenile, deputies looking for additional victims

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION-TV)- The Monterey County Sheriff's Office arrested a 21-year-old man who is accused of performing lewd acts with a juvenile on Monday.

According to a Sheriff's Office Commander, deputies were made aware of a sexual assault involving a victim who was 14 years old at the time of the abuse and a adult male suspect.

Detectives began an investigation which led them to identify the suspect as 21-year-old Eric Martinez-Villanueva of Watsonville.

Deputies along with Watsonville Police Department officers arrested Martinez-Villanueva without incident at his home on the 10 block of Lassen Way.

Martinez-Villaneuva was booked into the Monterey County Jail for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition upon a victim.

Deputies said that there are aware that other adult or juvenile victims are involved and are working to contact them.
