Multiple Monterey County school districts offering free summer food programs
MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- In the words of Alice Cooper, 'School is Out for the Summer'.
However, multiple school districts in Monterey County are offering students free summer meals through different programs.
The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District will be offering summer meals for kids who are 18 and under. Lunch will be provided to all children and teens and no paperwork is needed.
Here are some of the sites that MPUSD will be offering free summer meals.
Dual Language Academy of the Monterey Peninsula on 1650 Sonoma Ave in Seaside | June 5 - July 3, 2024, No service: June 19 & July 4 | Lunch will be served : 11:30 a.m. |
Olson Elementary School, 261 Beach Road in Marina | June 5 - July 3, 2024, No service: June 19 & July 4 | Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. |
Ord Terrace Elementary School, 1775 La Salle Ave in Seaside | June 10 - July 19, 2024, No service: June 19 & July 4 | Lunch will be served at noon |
Marina High School on 298 Patton Parkway in Marina | June 5 - June 28, 2024, No service: June 19 | Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. |
Monterey High School on 101 Hermann Drive in Monterey | June 3 - June 28, 2024,No service: June 19 | Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. |
Seaside High School on 2200 Noche Buena in Seaside | June 4 - June 28, 2024, No service: June 19 | Lunch served at 11:30 a.m. |
Marina City Library on 190 Seaside Circle in Marina | June 6 - July 25, 2024, No service: July 4 | Lunch served every Thursday at noon |
Seaside City Library on 550 Harcourt Avenue in Seaside | June 12 - July 24, 2024, No service: June 19 | Lunch will be served every Wednesday at noon |
The Alisal Union School District will be distributing food as well with the Food Bank For Monterey County.
District officials say that the food will be distributed on Monday afternoon at the Family Resource Center located at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Academy. They will also distribute food on Tuesday June 18 at the Family Resource Center at Frank Paul Elementary School.
The food will be distributed between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
