Salinas Police arrest four people in connection to human trafficking
SALINAS, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Salinas Police arrested four people in the same night in connection to human trafficking from two separate calls.
On May 22, Salinas Police detectives received a tip from the FBI about a possible victim of human trafficking in the area of Kern Street. Within hours after the tip, detectives were able to identify the juvenile victim and suspected traffickers. 37 year old Cordarryl Steen was taken into custody after leaving a local hotel. The victim and 23 year old Sade Williams were located in a hotel room. Williams was also taken into custody.
Both Steen and Williams were booked into the Monterey County Jail for human trafficking. The juvenile victim was taken to the Monterey County Child Protective Services.
Later that same night, officers received a call from a second juvenile victim of human trafficking that was able to flee a hotel room that she was being forced to work out of. Officers quickly met with the victim and identified the two suspects involved, 21 year old Rory Johnson and 20 year old Jessica Clamucha.
Officers surrounded the hotel room and took Johnson and Clamucha into custody without incident. Both suspects were booked into the Monterey County Jail for human trafficking.
