CHP Santa Cruz rescues rabbit from Highway 17

A CHP Santa Cruz officers was able to rescue a rabbit from Highway 17 in Santa Cruz County on Sunday night.

A CHP Santa Cruz officers was able to rescue a rabbit from Highway 17 in Santa Cruz County on Sunday night.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- It was an unusual scene for the California Highway Patrol.

On Sunday night, officers said that construction workers on Highway 17 discovered a rabbit close to the road.

Officers said that they were able to rescue "Bugs," and give him a ride to Pacific and Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists where he is receiving care.
