Man and woman arrested after burglarizing one business two days apart, police say

HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION-TV)- Hollister Police arrested two people after they broke into a commercial business just two days apart.

Officers said the investigation started on May 29 when they were called out to a report of a burglary on the 1100 block of East Park Street.

Investigators said that two suspects were able to get into the storage unit area of the business and took a few items.

On Friday, officers were called out to the same businesses where the same suspects broke into the storage unit and stole an estimated $1,000 worth of property.

Police reviewed surveillance footage in the area and identified the suspects as 44-year-old Osvaldo Vergara and 57-year-old Katherine Branch in connection to the burglaries.

Investigators arrested 44-year-old Vergara in the 800 block of East Street while Branch was arrested in the San Benito County riverbed.

Vergara and Branch were booked into the San Benito County Jail on multiple burglary and grand theft charges.
