45-year-old man dead after being ejected from vehicle on Graham Hill Road, CHP says

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- A 45-year-old Santa Cruz County man is dead after he crashed his car into a tree early Sunday morning.

Officers said that the crash happened around 2:45 a.m. on Graham Hill Road just south of Deer Path Road.

The CHP said that a 45-year-old man was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima northbound on Graham Hill Road when the car left the road and crashed into multiple objects including a tree.

Investigators said that the man was ejected from the vehicle and sustained major injuries. He was the only occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene per CHP.

Officers said that the man was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. The CHP said that the cause of the crash is still under investigation and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in this crash.
