Student arrested after stabbing occurred at Christopher High School, police said
GILROY, CALIF. (KION-TV) - UPDATE ON MAY 22, 2024 AT 2:51 P.M.- Gilroy Police have arrested a Christopher High School student after he allegedly stabbed another boy in the school locker room on Wednesday afternoon.
A Gilroy Police Sargent told KION that officers responded to the high school around noon for a report of a stabbing.
Investigators said that two boys got into an fight in the boy's locker room. Officers say that one of the students involved in the fight pulled a knife and stabbed the other student.
Police said that school staff and a School Resource Officer were on campus at the time and intervened.
The suspect was arrested and the male student was transported to a local hospital for their injuries.
A Gilroy Unified School District spokesperson told KION that a "code-blue" lockdown was initiated at the school for about an hour after the stabbing.
District officials will onsite to provide support through the end of the school day.
Gilroy Police said there is no ongoing threat to the students or staff at Christopher High School.
The juvenile suspect was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on multiple charges related to this investigation.

A student was stabbed on the campus of Christopher High School in Gilroy, according to police. Just before the stabbing a fight a broke out, and that is when one of the students involved in the fight pulled out a knife and stabbed the other student, according to Gilroy police.
The student who was stabbed was taken to the hospital, we are working to find out the extent of their injury.
