Monterey City Council to discuss approving four retail cannabis store permits

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION-TV)- The Monterey City Council could approve the first four storefront retail cannabis businesses within city limits.

City Council will hear from four different applications as well as those on the waitlist.

Councilmembers will also have a drawling on which designated zones that each business will operate in.

The city designated those areas which include Lighthouse Avenue, Cannery Row, Old Monterey and North Freemont Street.

Councilmembers will begin talking about that item on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The meeting will be on Zoom and will be right here.
