Police shut down seven illegal street vendors in Salinas

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV)- Salinas Police shut down seven street vendors over the weekend after officers found that they were not operating without permits within city limits.

In a social media post, officers said the vendors were blocking sidewalks and violating health codes.

Investigators say that some of the vendors were from out of town.

Salinas Police added they understand people wanting to make a living and thrive but they are asking vendors to do so with the appropriate city and county health permits needed to operate.
