City of Salinas gets $16 million in federal funding to improve road safety on Williams Road

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV)- U.S. Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren announced on Tuesday that the City of Salinas will be getting federal funding to address road safety along a familiar road in East Salinas.

Lofgren said that the federal grant will be used to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety along Williams Road.

The funding is part from the Department of Transportation's Safe Streets for All program which supports the planning and implementation of safety action plans to address roadway safety issues.

Lofgren's office said the city of Morgan Hill received a $200,050 grant to develop a comprehensive safety action plan
