Freight truck driver narrowly escapes vehicle fire on Highway 101 near Soledad

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Multiple fire agencies responded to a freight truck fire along Highway 101 near Camphora Gloria Road on Friday morning.

Investigators said the driver of a semi-truck noticed his check engine light turned on.

Once he pulled over and got out of the truck, a fire suddenly sparked.

From there, Cal Fire said they were able to respond and put the fire out quickly.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but luckily no injuries were reported.
