DEL REY OAKS, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Del Rey Oaks Police arrested a man in connection to a theft that happened earlier in March.

According to officials, officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle that had been linked to a theft that took place on March 13th. The driver of the vehicle didn't attempt to flee and pulled over when asked by police.

During the traffic stop it was discovered that the driver, Julio Armendariz, had warrants in Monterey County and was arrested without incident.

A further search of the vehicle found numerous burglary tools in the car and on Armendariz himself. This includes "shaved keys" which are typically used for lock picking. The theft that happened on March 13th matched the burglary items found that were used to break into the victims work truck and steal the unnamed items.

Armendariz was booked into the Monterey County Jail for the outstanding warrants, possession of burglary tools, and other charges.

The investigation is still ongoing. If anyone recognizes this method of break in and recently experienced theft, specifically construction tools, you're asked to contact Del Rey Oaks Police.
