Voter survey shows that they are in favor of Hazel Hawkins being sold
HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION-TV)- Hazel Hawkins Hospital has been in financial limbo since November 2022.
However, a survey released showed results of voters being in favor of Hazel Hawkins Hospital being sold.
The results were presented during a San Benito Health Care District board meeting on Tuesday.
About 500 registered voters answered questions about the hospitals future. The survey showed 77 percent of the voters were in favor for a lease to sale to outright sale of the hospitals.
During the meeting, the Board also approved a deadline of April 2 for final proposals for any interested parties looking to purchase the hospital and their assets.
There have been four different health agencies/parties who have been interested in purchasing the hospital.

The hospital says that will allow them ample time to prepare a ballot measure either in a special election for the November 2024 ballot.
