Meta users reporting issues on several platforms

Facebook

(KION-TV) - If you've tried logging into your Facebook account, you might have been met with an unexpected issue.

Social media platforms that are owned by Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads) have been reported to be shutdown or having issues at around 7 a.m. according to DownDetector. At last checkup, a little over 229,000 people have reported issues with Facebook at around 7:42 a.m., according to the website.

For people who use Facebook on their phones, users were met with a screen that reads “session expired, please log in again.” Tapping on the message would take them to a log-in screen, where users reported seeing a message that reads “Unable to log in. An unexpected error occurred. Please try logging in again.” When trying to log in on a computer or laptop web browser, people were wrongly told the “password you’ve entered is incorrect.”

For people using Facebook messenger, they're dealing with the same issue.

On Instagram people can still login to the site, but they're notified that the page can't be refreshed. If people try logging in on a desktop or laptop, they're met with a message that says:

"Something went wrong: There's an issue and the page could not be loaded"

Meta's third app Threads is dealing with only loading issues.

The cause of the issues is unknown at this time.
