Ballots and Books events taking place throughout the week in Monterey County

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- With the California Primary Election less than two weeks away, the Elections Department will be hosting a series of events in South Monterey County this week.

Flex Voting Centers will be open at multiple libraries through Friday. Voters will be able to cast their ballot in-person or return their mail-in ballot among other services.

The Elections Office wanted to make sure their hours accommodate working voters with busy schedules.

"This benefits voters by bringing the elections office to them at times that are convenient to them," County of Monterey Registrar of Voters Gina Martinez said. "They go to work during the day, they’re in school during the day, maybe they’re busy during the eight to five hours so were there with the extended hours at the libraries."

There will be multiple books and ballots events happening in North Monterey County next week.

Here is the full list of where you can drop off your ballots at.
