Monterey Bay F.C. set to launch their U-18 academy

SEASIDE, Calif. (KION-TV)- Monterey Bay F.C. will be looking to continue to give Central Coast soccer players a chance to play professional soccer.

The Union announced that they will be launching an U-18 academy to help build their player pathway program.

“Creating a program that allows players to be brought into the MBFC family and work at our facilities and train with our staff is an exciting opportunity for us," said Monterey Bay F.C. Club Development Officer Neil Diaz in a statement.

The club said that players who are selected for their Development Academy will be invited to participate in practices and will receive opportunities to progress internally through the club's Player Pathway program.

Players will train with and play under the Club’s professional coaching staff throughout the year. The Crisp and Kelp will be announcing the director of the Development Academy in the next couple of weeks.

Monterey Bay F.C. that the development academy will not compete with any local club or program so players must prioritize  playing for their clubs first.
