Swarm of small earthquakes felt in parts of Monterey and San Benito Counties, USGS

TRES PINOS, Calif. (KION-TV) Thursday morning at 9:32 a.m., an earthquake registering a magnitude 3.4 was felt in parts of Monterey County and San Benito County. The quake's epicenter was 8 miles S of Tres Pinos, with a depth of 3.8 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS.)

At 11:16 a.m., an earthquake registering a magnitude 3.3 was felt in the same area. The quake's epicenter was 8 miles S of Tres Pinos, with a depth of 4.0 miles, according to the USGS.

Another 3.4 magnitude earthquake was felt in the area at 11:28 a.m., according to the USGS. A 2.6 was felt in that area at 11:19 a.m. as well, according to the USGS.

There have been reports of people feeling the quake in Hollister, and Salinas.
