20-year-old Seaside man arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at an officer, police say
SEASIDE, Calif. (KION-TV)- UPDATE ON FEB. 3, 2024 at 8:23 p.m.- Seaside Police confirmed that they have arrested a 20-year-old man who allegedly attempted to ambush an officer with a gun on Jan. 27.
Officers said they arrested 20-year-old Luis Escobedo on the 300 block of Roberts Avenue around 3:20 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
Investigators said on the night of Jan. 27, Escobedo was holding a handgun and snuck up behind a Seaside Police Officer while the officer sat in his patrol car.
The officer was able to get his car in a safe position and Escobedo raised his gun and took off running.
Seaside Police said that Escobedo will be booked into the Monterey County Jail on brandishing a gun at a police officer charge.

Seaside Police are looking for a male suspect who allegedly pointed a gun at an officer on Sunday night.
Officers said that the incident took place in the area of Del Monte Boulevard and Olympia Avenue around 7:47 p.m.
According to investigators, a man holding a handgun snuck up behind a Seaside Police Officer while the officer sat in his patrol car.
The officer was able to safely maneuver his car in a safe position and exited his car. Investigators said the suspect raised the gun and took off running.
The suspect was not located according to Police.
Seaside Police that the man was wearing a black puffy jacket with a white shirt, wear blue jeans with a red hat. Officers are asking the community for any surveillance footage in the area that could have captured the incident.
