Love with Lemons: Child raises money for fallen officers
SALINAS, Calif. (KION) These days you hear a lot of anti-police messages, with fair concerns.
Yet there is one little girl who for years has had an unwavering commitment to police officers and all law enforcement across the country.
The ones in Salinas she feels are a little more special. They serve and protect her grandmother’s neighborhood.
"Hello, my name is Teresa Ann, and I'm seven years old. I'm with Love with Lemons," said the seven-year-old in a Youtube video.
Little Teresa lives in Nevada but was recently in Salinas.
She has stopped by as many police departments as she can to help raise money for the families of fallen officers by setting up a lemonade stand outside of police departments.
“’Tell me about your trip to Salinas? Salinas is special for you, right? Why?’
"Because my nana lives there”
Teresa's trip to Salinas was also memorable because she met a very cute K-9 named Oakley.
When she visits her brothers and sisters in blue, as she identifies them, she's always wearing her uniform.
On one side of her shirt are pins from all the departments in California, while on the other are pins collected from Texas.
In total, she's been to 28 departments.
During this pandemic, she hasn’t stopped doing what she loves. She can’t travel with her lemonade stand yet, but she’s taken to social media to garner support and is connecting with other children who share the same mission.
