Twelve-year-old Lilian Kaemmerling uses talent to fund COVID-19 cause

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION)

Lilian Kaemmerling, 12, was first recognized after joining a movement to donate COVID-19 themed artwork to local hospitals across Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties.

According to her family, her painting depicting a nurse fighting off small coronavirus villains was a favorite among nurses, who encouraged her to start selling them.

Lilian is now selling buttons with that printed image to nurses as a reminder of their courage and bravery, as well as anyone who wants to have their own.

She says half the proceeds will be donated to Samaritan's Purse to help provide relief to those impacted by the ongoing pandemic.
