Veterans serve up Thanksgiving meals in Salinas for those in need
The American Legion Post 31 in Salinas is serving more than 600 meals Thursday on Thanksgiving. For more than 20 years, the Salinas post along with volunteers have been giving back to the community on Thanksgiving day.
American Legion members across the nation are serving their local area a hardy dinner and company to go along with it. In Salinas, about 200 of the 600 people that showed up are veterans.
In addition to the free meals, American Legion is also doing a jacket drive. More than 200 jackets were donated.
Tonight at 5 and 6 p.m. on KION, Drew Andre has more behind the annual tradition.
