People posing as city water workers in Seaside, police say it’s a scam

SEASIDE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Seaside Police Department is warning the community about reports of people approaching homes and pretending to be employees of the Seaside Municipal Water System.

According to police, these people are trying to gain access inside of homes. They said the city's water system will always wear a uniform and drive official city vehicles.

They are asking for the public's help reporting people who are posing as the city's water system employees to call the city to verify the visit at 831.899.6835 or have the person show their city issued identification.
