300 illegal fireworks seized in Seaside

SEASIDE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Seaside PD and Monterey County Probation Department confirmed Tuesday that a 17-year-old living on the 1600 block of Goodwin Street was in possession of more than 300 pounds of illegal fireworks.

"We are serious about our enforcement and very aware of hot spot neighborhoods already engaging in illegal fireworks," said Seaside Fire and Police on Facebook.

The institutions are asking community members to report illegal fireworks by calling 831-394-6811. Hotlines will remain open on July 4.
