Man throwing rocks at beach-goers Monday arrested; Santa Cruz Police

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Santa Cruz police say that a suspect is in custody Tuesday following an hours-long standoff at Main Beach on Monday.

Around 1 p.m., officers say that they started receiving reports of a man causing a disturbance near the Santa Cruz Wharf.

He was allegedly throwing rocks at people along the beach. Police confirm that no injuries were reported.

Police say that the unidentified suspect ended up surrendering and was arrested after 6 p.m. that evening.
