Watsonville Discusses Capital Improvement Plan
The Watsonville Planning Commission is set to discuss the city's Capital Improvement Program, which will include projects for the next 5 years. However, only projects coming in the next fiscal year will be presented to the city's council once approved by the planning commission.
One of those projects is the Ramsay Park Renaissance project, which aims to add a new soccer field, multi use synthetic field, dog park, playground, landscape and more to the park. There are also plans for a city plaza revitalization plan and for several traffic safety projects, including the construction of a pedestrian bridge over SR1 at Harkins Slough Road, installing sidewalks and reconfiguring bike lanes, and adding high visibility crosswalks at locations like Pajaro Valley high School.
These projects are in addition to broader infrastructure projects coming in the next year, like the replacement of 2.65 miles of the city's water main, pavement repairs, and electrical system improvements for the city's waster water treatment plant.
Once approved by the planning commission, these projects and more will be sent to the city council for final approval.
