Suspect arrested in Capitola for possession of drugs and firearms; Capitola Police
CAPITOLA, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Capitola Police say that they were patrolling Wednesday night and came across a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on 41st Avenue.
When officers approached the man inside of the car, they saw drug paraphernalia in plain sight and noticed that the suspect had recently used narcotics, according to Capitola Police.
They said that they searched the car and found ammunition, an SKS rifle with bayonet, fentanyl, methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
The suspect is a convicted felon, having assaulted people with firearms previously, according to police, and so he is not supposed to be in possession of firearms.
Police say that the suspect was arrested immediately and booked into County Jail.
