Solo vehicle crash on Highway 129 leaves driver with injuries, dog unharmed; the CHP

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Santa Cruz CHP reported a solo vehicle DUI crash on Highway 129 near Murphy Crossing that involved a dog inside of a pickup truck.

They said that, fortunately, the dog was unharmed in the accident that took place Monday morning.

According to the CHP, the truck collided with a tree and a fence before stopping on the road. They said that the driver sustained injuries and was arrested for DUl.

The dog was unharmed and was safely transported to a local Santa Cruz County shelter, according to the CHP.

Officials would like to remind drivers not to drink and drive, especially with the holidays around the corner.
