Body found on Davenport Beach over the weekend, person pronounced dead on scene; Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office

DAVENPORT BEACH, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's office announced Tuesday that a body was recovered from the Davenport Beach area around 1:15 p.m. after they received reports of a body in the water.

They say that rescue swimmers and fire crews were able to pull the body out of the water, but the person was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Coroner's Unit is still working to identify the person, and they say no foul play is suspected. The Sheriff's office says the person's identification will be released once the family has been notified.
