SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Voters in Santa Cruz passed Measure Q this week, which helps support the County’s approach to water and wildfire protection through a parcel tax of $87 annually.

Argument for: The measure would protect water quality; natural water sources; reduce wildfire risks; keep beaches clean and protect marine life; and preserve wildlife habitats.

Argument against: Misleading branding; not independent; fund dispersement not guaranteed; no advocate for unincorporated areas; and lack of solutions, details, or accountability.

A link to the more comprehensive measure is available here.
