Capitola to consider outdoor dining at Esplanade
CAPITOLA, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Capitola is the latest Central Coast city to consider outdoor dining as an option during the COVID-19 pandemic.
City council members are expected to discuss options to allow outdoor dining on the Esplanade, allowing for some surrounding businesses to provide outdoor dining to patrons.
Recently, Santa Cruz County health officials indicated increased levels of business activity may be allowed in early June, coinciding with the county's plan to submit an attestation form to the state.
That form would allow the county to open up barber shops, hair salons and dine-in restaurant services should the state approve the form and should those businesses provide info that they will follow the state's social distancing guidelines.
Santa Cruz County officials plan on introducing their plans to move into that phase of reopening during a board of supervisors meeting tomorrow.
Capitola's City Council meeting is scheduled for tonight, 5/28/20, at 7 P.M. at the City Council Chambers located on 420 Capitola Avenue.
