WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION)

As schools in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District remain closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the District is trying to make sure students can learn from home.

Thursday and Friday, they will be distributing Chomebooks, as loans, to students, grades 3-12, at a number of district schools for "distance learning." PVUSD schools are closed until April 10th, after Santa Cruz County announced their "shelter-in-place" order.

The District says students who already have their own device do not need to get one loaned from PVUSD.

An adult must be with the child when picking up the Chromebook.

On Tuesday, Governor Newsom said that most schools will closed be closed for the rest of the school year.

  • Rio Del Mar and Mar Vista will pick up Chromebooks at Valencia
  • Students from WHS, PVHS, DTI, Lakeview, Pajaro Middle grades 7-8, EA Hall grade 7, and WCSA already have their Chromebooks through the District’s technology take-home program
