MILPITAS, Calif. (KTVU-TV) -- Four people – two adults and two children – were found dead in a Milpitas apartment, police said Wednesday.

Police said Thursday that the adults have been identified as Vinh Nguyen and Betty Pham, and their two children were ages nine and four.

All appeared to have a single gunshot wound and Nguyen has been identified as the suspect responsible, according to Milpitas Police. They also said that a handgun was legally registered to him and found at the scene.

The four were found on Tuesday just before 9 p.m. at 1355 McCandless Drive, according to Lt. Tyler Jamison.

Police said officers were called out to the Turing Apartments to conduct a welfare check and when they arrived, they found the Nguyen, Pham and their two children inside "with obvious signs of death," Jamison said.
