Deadly crash in Gilroy Thursday night; CHP

GILROY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The CHP Hollister-Gilroy announced that they are investigating a deadly crash that happened Thursday night around 8:49 p.m. in Gilroy.

The victim is being identified as a 28-year-old male of Gilroy, according to the CHP.

They said the crash took place on Holsclaw Road north of Highway 152, and when officers got on scene, they found a 2013 Toyota Tundra pickup truck off the road and into a tree.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle, and the CHP said that he died due to the severity of the crash.

The CHP said that they do not know if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash and they are urging anyone with more information to contact the CHP Hollister-Gilroy Area at 408.427.0700.
