Gilroy Police confirm the investigation about two shootings late Monday night

GILROY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Late Monday night Gilroy Police say that there were two shootings that occurred Monday at 9:22 p.m. in Gilroy.

They say that they responded to reports of a fight with possible gunshots near the intersection of First Street and Hanna Street.

On scene, officers learned that an adult male involved with the initial phone call to police was transported to a nearby hospital by a private party, according to police. They say that he had confirmed gunshot wounds.

The police say that the victim is expected to survive, and at 10:46 p.m. officers received another call about a second shooting at a residential location on the 7100 block of Church Street.

Gilroy Police say that no one was injured in the second shooting and that it is unknown if both shootings are related.

The police are not releasing further details at this time and the investigation is active.
