Deadly shooting in Salinas Sunday night; Salinas Police

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- On Sunday at around 8:10 p.m., Salinas Police said that they responded to a shooting on the 1000 block of Industrial Street.

They said that when they arrived, police saw a 22-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds and after attempting life-saving techniques on the victim, he ended up dying from his injuries.

Police say that after conducting an initial investigation, they learned that the shooting was a result of a confrontation between the victim and the shooter, although they have not released information about the suspect yet.

Police are also not identifying the man at this time.

They are asking for anyone with information about this incident to call Detective Robert Miller at 831.758.7954 or to remain anonymous, call 831.775.4222.
