Salinas police still searching for one suspect in October shooting; Salinas Police

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Salinas Police announced Friday that they are still searching for a suspect involved in a shooting from October 26 at 1 a.m. on the 600 block of Towt St.

Officers say that when they arrived on scene, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower right leg as well as graze wound to his back. He was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police investigated that the victim was standing near 644 Towt St. and witnessed four to six males tagging a wall at 646 Towt St. Police say that when the victim approached the suspects, they moved toward the intersection of Del Monte Ave. and Towt St. before firing multiple rounds.

Police were able to get video surveillance of the incident, which is how they identified four suspects.

They said that Salinas Police SWAT, VSTF and detectives were able to issue multiple search warrants to three 15-year-olds in the City of Salinas. Those juveniles were arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall for attempted murder and gang enhancements, according to police.

The fourth suspect in the situation, 18-year-old Angel Gayossa, is still outstanding and there is a warrant for his arrest.

Anyone with information about Gayossa is encouraged to contact the Salinas Police Department.
